ARTICLE: More on the Mega Pokemon

In case you have missed the updates, more information on the newly revealed "Mega Pokemon" have surfaced.

First and foremost, the English names of the beasts will separate the word "Mega" from the Pokemon's name. For example, what is known as MegaMewtwo in Japan will be known as Mega Mewtwo in North America.

Second, as previously speculated, the Mega-Evolutions are temporary transformations made at the start of battle by holding an item called a Mega Stone. Each Mega Pokemon will have its own Mega Stone. For example, Lucario will have Lucarionite and Blaziken will have Blazikenite.

A special Torchic will be given away over Wifi starting October 12th when the games release. This Torchic will be holding Blazikenite, so it will ultimately be able to become a Mega Blaziken.

Today it was revealed that only one Mega Pokemon would be allowed in each battle. Due to this being a translation, it is unclear whether this means you may only have one Mega Pokemon on your team or if only one Pokemon may Mega-Evolve during each battle.

Finally, a new Mega Pokemon was revealed today. Mega Kangahskan will have the baby Kangahskan finally come out of the pouch and battle with its mother/father. Its special ability will allow for some moves to even hit twice in one turn.
