TOP 7: Halo Vehicles

Next we have my Top 7 choices for the vehicles in the Halo universe, I only picked drivable/ pilotable ones, even though I like my Pelican and Scarabs as much as the next person.

7.) Spectre

Quite possibly the most underrated vehicle in Halo’s history, this weird hybrid is essentially the Covenant’s version of the Warthog. It had an awesome plasma turret, a boost ability and room for one more passenger than its human counterpart, it was also extremely fast. Too bad after Halo 2 it never saw the light of day ever again.

6.) Wraith

The Covenant Wraith is on here for obvious reasons; it’s big, sturdy, shiny and has a massive plasma mortar. The Covenant tank was introduced in Halo CE, but wasn’t controllable until Halo 2. Like its human counterpart, the Scorpion, this monster usually takes two Spartan Laser or Rocket Launcher hits to bring down at range, or one person lucky enough to get close enough to board it, but because of the splash damage of its mortar and its boost ability which easily and frustratingly splattered would be boarders, the Wraith was a very tough killing machine.

5.)  Mongoose

Not much to be said about this little ATV-esque vehicle, aside from it was introduced in Halo 3 and since then it has been a remarkably effective tool at getting from point A to B quickly, albeit at the cost of high vulnerability. It’s usually highly effective to use one to rush to power weapons on the map.

4)  Banshee

The highly maneuverable Banshee was introduced in Halo CE and has been featured in every game since. It has the ability to perform aerial acrobatics to dodge projectiles, has killer speed, and an amazing fuel rod cannon as its alternate attack that is an extremely effective weapon for harassing enemy players. Skilled Banshee pilots can sometimes even overpower tanks, assuming the pilot is proficient enough at dodging. All in all, the Banshee is a fantastic vehicle that’s powerful in its own right, but absolutely painful to deal with when someone knows what they’re doing when in it.

3) Ghost

The Ghost was introduced in Halo CE, and since then it has been the go-top vehicle for enemy harassment and suppression, and was the best way to scout until the appearance of the Mongoose. The Ghost’s cannons are decent, but its true strength is its boost and its ability to splatter anyone unfortunate enough to be in front of it.

2) Warthog

Probably the most iconic vehicle in the Halo franchise, the Warthog is also the most reliable. Like most of the other vehicles on this list, the Warthog made its debut in Halo CE, and with each main series Halo release another variant has been added, with the Gauss ‘Hog in Halo 2, the Passenger Warthog in Halo 3, which was in the campaign exclusively, and kind of useless, and the Rocket Hog in Reach, which was also not as good as the first two but still somewhat fun to play as. The Warthog is truly an all-purpose vehicle, its turret can rip apart enemy infantry and lighter vehicles, it’s relatively fast, it can be used to ram enemies and it has room for an extra passenger for those moments when walking the flag back to the base just isn’t fast enough. In another world it may have come in the first, but the next vehicle is just too awesome.

1) Scorpion

“Tank beats everything,” these words were spoken in Halo 3  by a random marine during “The Ark,” and, well, it’s the truth. The Scorpion’s power is second to none; even a Wraith has little chance against a Scorpion, especially at long range. Its cannon can destroy anything it hits in one shot, with the exception of other Scorpions or Wraiths. Not only this, but it’s a lot faster than a tank this powerful has any right to be. If you have the chance to use this during a multiplayer match, do so, just try not to get too close to the enemy, shoot Banshees down before they can swoop down and bomb you, and watch out for Spartan Lasers. :D

Honourable Mention:
Hornet
Chopper
