Yesterday the official Playstation Facebook page posted this image, teasing a mysterious new game coming to one of their consoles sometime in the future.
As you can tell, this picture was super vague. The caption: "When Worlds Collide" also did not lead to many hints. Not many people were sure what it could have meant. Possibly a new crossover game such as Playstation Move Heroes, or maybe a sequel to Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale. Even I thought nothing of this picture, that is, until earlier today the next image was posted, revealing a little bit more.
In this second image, it is clear that what used to be a crescent-moon shaped image was really some sort of inter-dimensional gate and the new caption "When Worlds Collide Heroes Return" seemed to point to a bigger array of guesses. Now, this image was posted with the caption "Insomniac Games," which meant it was likely developed by Insomniac. Many people pointed out that the gate may be the one from Jak & Daxter, and that maybe because Naughty Dog had not gone back to the franchise, Insomniac would now be developing the next installment in the series.
Another thought people had was this could be a Jak & Daxter / Ratchet & Clank crossover game, due to the caption "When Worlds Collide."
The final image posted just moments ago revealed what the title actually was:
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will be released this holiday for the PS3. Although I am disappointed that this is not a Jak & Daxter title, I am also very excited that Ratchet & Clank are returning, hopefully in their traditional way without any gimmicks. But, there is still hope that Ratchet & Clank will meet up with Jak & Daxter in this game, as little details have been revealed and maybe Sony has a few tricks up their sleeve.
We can only hope that we see the return of Jak & Daxter sometime soon, whether it be in a crossover with Ratchet & Clank in this title or as an entirely new game developed by Naughty Dog.
As for this game, I do not have much speculation, but I believe it would be a very great marketing strategy for Insomniac to re-introduce Chairman Drek as the villain of this game, as he will be featured as the villain of the Ratchet & Clank movie that will hit theaters in 2015.
I have high hopes for Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus and am glad that the duo will be entertaining me again this holiday season along with all the other blockbusters.

I want Dr Nefarious back :p I know that we've seen him several times now, but he is one of the best characters in the series.
