Bioshock Infinite (X360/PS3)
Score By: Gino C. & Giuliano V.
Gameplay: 9.0, 9.5
Stays true to the original and improves upon it but it focuses too much on guns and lacks good melee component. Elizabeth is a very strong companion and great AI. Extremely good gameplay, Vigors are fun to use.
Story: 9.5, 9.5
Great story, paced well but ending confusing. Booker/Elizabeth dialogue very deep. One of the best stories of this generation, well-told, personal and full of twists, but can be a little hard to follow at times. Comstock an extremely good villain and the religious themes are interesting.
Sound: 9.0, 9.5
Old timely music is very charming, Overall background music very fitting. Voice acting fits the characters perfectly except Booker sounds too much like Nathan Drake/Desmond Miles. Music very charming. Hidden easter egg of Elizabeth singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" was magical.
Presentation: 10, 10
Absolutely beautiful game, art style great, looks very cel-shaded but works with the game. Graphics extremely good, Columbia one of the best dystopian environments in any media, character designs very realistic aside from Elizabeth who's eyes make her look very cartoony but it does not take away from the game.
Lasting Appeal: 8, 9
There is no real incentive to replay the game aside from 1999 mode, which is a turn off due to the already difficult nature of the standard "Hard" mode. Alot of collectibles could add to replaybility but not straight after the first playthrough. Story roughly 12 hours which is a decent length for a FPS. I am not a fan of FPS games, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. This was also my first Bioshock and a great entry point into the series.
Final Verdict: 9.5 / 10
If you are a fan of any type of FPS game or enjoy a great story, this game is DEFINITELY for you. Everyone should consider playing this game in their lifetime. By no means is this game perfect, but it's pretty damn close. Perhaps in another universe...
Injustice: Gods Among Us (X360/PS3/WiiU)
Score By: Matteo C, Gino C, Giuliano V
Gameplay: 9, 8.5, 8
I like unique character traits that at to the individuality of each character, outrageous stage transitions and super moves are a great addition as well as the interactables on the stages, practice mode and tutorial help beginners become pros, very smooth fighter but some characters are broken, one of the better playing traditional fighters, very easy to pick up and get into
Story: 8.5, 8, 7.5
Pretty long story for a fighting game, really elaborated on fan-fiction of Batman vs. Superman, easily appreciated by DC fans, Interesting story, multiverse thing was cool, felt the game built up Superman vs. Batman too much but did not deliver the intended result, Good story for a fighting game, Multiverse was hard to follow at times, too many inconsistencies and plotholes, wasn't believable at some of the characters allying with other characters, very disappointed that the only characters in the story were the 24 playable characters
Sound: 9, 7.5, 7.5
Very happy with the voice acting that they brought all the DC animated universe voice actors in for the characters, very epic title theme, music doesn't overpower the voice acting. Main title gets too repetitive and is very short and loops infinitely, transitions and bone crushing noises very humorous, DCAU voice actors a nice fan service. Music wasn't very memorable, voice acting was a good fan service but Mark Hamil should have voiced Joker.
Presentation: 9, 8, 8
Some of the characters' animations could have been smoother, really enjoyed most of the roster choices and alternate costume really adds variety to the game, stages contain lots of DC references and they are very detailed. Most of the women look very man-like, graphics are good but some players are not preportioned correctly. Roster decent but some characters such as Soloman Grundy, Killer Frost, Ares and Harley Quinn seemed very silly to include. All of the big characters play roughly the same and don't add much variety to the roster. The lack of Martian Manhunter alone bothers me. Some alternate costumes are very poorly designed such as Raven's and Joker's.
Lasting Appeal: 10, 10, 7
Tons of stuff to do, tons of STAR labs missions and battle modes and tons of unlockable concept art and music. STAR Labs missions are very fun and each have their own individual storylines and humors. If you pre-ordered and obtained the Red Son DLC, it was absolutely hilarious and a great fan service. Tons and tons of content, filled with STAR Labs missions and Battles BUT extremely little incentive to do any of it due to lack of unlockable characters/costumes of which most are available from the start. Also, not very fun alone, must have friends in order to enjoy the game completely.
Final Verdict: 8.4 / 10
Recommended for any fighting game fans and comic book fans, specifically DC fans. It is an easy fighter to pick up and play if you are just getting into fighting games now.
